Shop Doors, and Play Time!

Got the new Shop Doors installed a couple of days ago...once I finish the archway (with the "bottle wall" skylight inset) above them, it will look really cool. Oh, and the diamond shaped mosaics that Armondo is making for them are "still in progress"...

My friends, Mr. Boozer, and his son, Mark, have a couple of ATVs...and have said that anytime I'd like to get out exploring with them that they'd be more than tickled to let me drive one...sooo...yesterday, the kids (Anthony and daughter Bev) , Mark, and I went out to see if we could find Ryan's Wash...a place that I have had an interest in finding for well over a year now.

It was the first time that this ol' Fart has ever driven one of those things.

It was a Ball!

I even got "good 'nuff" that I could drive with one hand and try and take pics of my daughters backside with the other...as they lead the way in front of me...hee hee!

We rode out to Burro Gap, and then cut North on the old pipeline road and crossed over the really rough (but cool) area north of marker 72...(the same area where last Spring I couldn't get my pickup truck beyond); went past Marble Mtn. and then, somewhere near what" should have" been Apache Tears hill found the trail that "should have" taken us to Ryan's Wash...where, back in the early 40's, the Gov'ment lined out about 15-20 1930's cars and trucks, I've been told,... to use for "strafing practice" by fighter pilots on their way off to war (WW2). The spot is just "barely" on the Southeast corner of what is now called the Barry Goldwater Artillery Range.

I want to see those vehicles!...take some pics!...maybe do some paintings of them...arghhh!

...but, it wasn't to be...we couldn't find them...and since it was getting late and towards evening, we turned around and headed back.

I've got to find a "better" map...and get some better directions...damn!...

Despite the "failure", we still had a great time just rolling around out there...This is truly an Awsum area to explore and discover....especially when one get's off da "main roads"...

I want an ATV of my own!...They get ya so much "further into" the experience of "being out there" than an ol' 4x pickemup ever could!...The only thing that "might" possibly be better...would be a horse?...uh, nawwww!...hee hee....

Ya'll try and have a Great Day!...ya hear?
